Volunteer
VOLUNTEERS ARE THE HEART OF OUR PROGRAM
We Need You!
You are the caring people who help to improve the lives of individuals with special needs here at Children of Promise Stable. Volunteering is a rewarding, as well as, an educational experience. We are always looking for committed volunteers to help maintain our facilities, horses and provide assistance to our students.
Who Can Volunteer?
You! We feel certain you will enjoy the opportunity to work with individuals in our program. Volunteers under 18 years old need written parental consent. Children of Promise Stable provides comprehensive training to all volunteers. Horse experience is valued but not required.
What Can You Do?
Volunteers with equestrian experience, or those who want to learn, can help groom, tack horses, serve as horse leaders, or walk along the rider’s sides in helping to support them. Learning to be a horse leader or side walker helps our riders enjoy a safe and educational riding lesson.
Other opportunities are available to participate in caring of the horses or helping with barn maintenance. Volunteers may also assist with special events and fundraisers. We need people with all kinds of talent to help with our program.
What is required?
A volunteer data sheet and a release of liability must be completed and returned to us. Please click here to download and print our Volunteer Application.
If you would like to volunteer, you can call our office at 845-623-2677 or email us at volunteer@copsbarn.org.
